Library
Angkor Wat, Cambodia – November 2012 |
Yeah, in the times of the Angkor Empire, libraries kicked ass. Luckily for us, they still do even if the architecture isn't always as magnificent. The beauty of the architecture usually reflects the values of a society. Are our biggest and coolest monuments towards
money?
Government?
Universities?
Religion? Or perhaps the monument might be towards an institution that acts as a hub for inquiry towards the questions we ask in matters near and far, big and small. Eudaimonia or how to bounce a ball. Libraries are a miracle for the continuing of the base of knowledge of human kind to grow and be refined. Yet are they still revered as such today?
